Artist Statement: During our stay in Tuscany, my wife Janice and I had walked through this gateway into the center of Sienna four of five times throughout our stay, but the sunrise this particular morning was breathtaking. I completely enjoyed the process of painting this memory and recall how the sun felt on my face every time I look at.
