Artist Statement: "Family Foto" is the first painting in a series of four with my family as the subject matter. This painting is my partner Michael taking a photo of our fur daughter Quorra. The background is the home we owned in Riverside, CA with Mount Rubidoux in the distance. This painting is surrealistic in nature with a skewed perspective and a fantasy screen with the red moon and palm branches.
I received my BFA in Illustration and MA in art. Watercolor is my primary medium. I have been painting for almost 50 years. I specialize in transparent watercolor with an emphasis on the story behind the imagery. We are currently residing in Salinas, CA, having sold our home in Riverside and relocating here in April 2019. Michael and I have been together 21 years.
