Artist Statement: In my painting Beneath the Below (Street Series), I have surrounded the figure with a grouping of industrial pipes and ancillary forms to create a sense of personal space for the figure. I have attempted to complement the vertical thrust of the aged functional pipes and the organic form of the human.
