Artist Statement: - What makes my work unique is that the figures are explorations of mood and emotion rather than landscapes. The Firebird of the ballet is a magical burning bird, which is a blessing and a harbinger of doom to its captor, conspires to save the hero from the wicked wizard and his minions. This Firebird image emerges from a wish for magical intervention in these troubled times.
