Artist Statement: My recent series emerged from a lifetime of encounters with gnarled trees. The twists and curls and gnarled roots are a testimony of the time. Sepia tones reflect my feelings that the trees evoke. Softented pointillism and crosshatching form the basis of technique. The process is time consuming but rewarding.
