Artist Statement: My Fabricscape series emphasizes duality as the paintings can be read as both still life and landscape. My Appropriation series grew naturally out of the former series, as I continued to use fabrics, sewing notions, the penguins from my collection and other toys and everyday objects in these paintings. Both series became much more narrative over time.
