While I have painted in a more realistic style previously, I have been been experimenting with a more abstract approach. By painting on Yupo, I've enjoyed the challenge of controlling the paint and preserving the more "loose" effect that is a characteristic of Yupo. To do this I have to tilt my painting continuously while wet and concentrate on one color/value area at a time once other areas are dry. The result is a lot of spontaneity and some pleasant surprises.
