I have discovered a passion and joy for painting rather late in life, however, younger than Grandma Moses, now doing what I was meant to do.
I paint in series. My contemporary abstract acrylic paintings are layered texture and pattern, occasionally incorporating line. I’m drawn to large shapes and am enamored with color, particularly leaning towards a warmer palette. Recently, I have been painting with acrylics on raw canvas and loving both the abstracts and flowers, as well as the surprises that occur as the paint moves and merges with other colors and shapes, much like painting wet-into-wet with watercolor.
