Carol Carpenter - Canyon Road, Santa Fe
Watercolor painting by Carol Carpenter.
Artist Statement: I paint what I am familiar with and love. The texture of the ancient adobe buildings and fences in New Mexico have always fascinated me. I prefer to depict landscapes in their contemporary setting (cars and all) as opposed to trying to capture the look of days gone by. I find watercolor the best medium to capture the special light and soft shadows we are privileged to have here at this high altitude.
