Stephen Ravenscraft - Peeled
Watercolor painting by Stephen Ravenscraft.
Artist Statement: After a few attempts to capture the luminous quality of the inner orange, I was able to capture it as I intended. Reaching the end while I'm finishing the details â working the edges, background, etc. â SPLAT! Two giant drops, a mix of dark green, fall from a watery, loaded brush and land smack dab on the wall of granite. Needless to say there was a moment of panic! Thankfully, the painting survived without a blemish. I often find the creative process both calming and tumultuous. This watercolor â no exception â is titled âPeeledâ. It represents the moments when we are willing to reveal our authentic inner self and experience our intended design.
