William Hook - Going Up
Watercolor painting by William Hook.
Artist Statement: Bill Hook is interested in exploring the dynamic energy and chaotic character of change in the built environment with his watercolor paintings. This is a time when structures exhibit a level of energy and activity they will never again have after completion. He wanted to portray this process with strong light and colors that would elevate the imagery to be interesting and compelling away from that of a typical dirty grey job site.
Bill is a Seattle based artist, internationally known for his masterful watercolor interpretations of industrial and urban settings. His drawing and observational skills were developed during a 30 year career as a highly respected and awarded architectural illustrator. He is a signature member of the AWS, NWS, NWWS, CWA and has received awards in all of these as well as a number of other national and international exhibitions.
