Artist Statement: âMemento Moriâ is a self-portrait and a contemporary, personal interpretation of traditional memento mori iconography. My process uses large swaths of masking fluid, applied with a rough brush, to layer and splice together imagery, marrying realistic imagery with abstract compositions and use of media.
