Kathleen Giles, NWS - Life Is Looking For Crayfish
Kathleen Giles, NWS 2021
Gasport, NY
This painting is part of a series I am doing based on moments in my life that I think many people can relate to. This is my husband and two of my grandchildren looking for crayfish. I took many photos that day on our walk and was struck by the way their heads lined up as if I had planned it. I decided to use opaque color that I mixed with Chinese white watercolor. The water really was that color in my photo reference and I liked the color pop that the opacity created.
